Strength Training Tips For Ages 50+
In today's video, I share my strength training workout tips for adults 50+.
Beginning a strength training program after the age of 50 can be difficult. Maybe you haven't worked out in years. Maybe you have NEVER worked out.
What is the biggest mistake that people make? They begin to aggressively! People often go from complete inactivity to 5-6 workouts per week. This is a formula for disaster.
How should you begin a strength training program? I recommend that people begin their program with 2 workouts per week. Each workout should last only 20 minutes (this doesn't include the time you require to warm up). Each workout should be a full body workout.
Every 3 weeks, you should add 5 minutes t...

      @@OcraMedHealth I was the one who message you about the distal bicep tendonitis on another video, and you sent me a link to one of your bicep tendonitis videos in response to my comment(which I've seen before because I watch and appreciate your content!) I myself however ordered some bpc 157 capsules from a company that provides a certificate of analysis on their batches. Looking at their other supplements, they seem to use high quality ingredients(paticularly speaking on their multivitamin/multimineral, only because I'm not too familiar with the other peptides they provide so they makes me feel at least somewhat good about this paticular peptide). I'm on day 3 of it, I have another 57 to go until this "cycle" is complete. If this helps heal my bicep tendon, I know it's the real deal. They told me it's an acetate form of bpc-157, not the arginate. Whether that makes a difference in quality and/or how well it works is yet to be determined. I will share my results, probably in one of your newer videos around that time, I'm sure you'll remember me. P. S. I think your from my home state of Massachusetts which is near and dear to me.

    If anyone cares... I like Dr Joe, and his exercises are ALWAYS really helpful for me, but he always gets his spine exhibit dummy backward. I've seen this quirk in several of his videos. A layperson can even tell which way is front because there's a chin of sorts to help indicate front. What he says is the back is actually the front, and he pushes the pelvis the wrong way to illustrate anterior pelvic tilt. In anterior pelvic tilt, the tops of the flared hip bones tip forward (anterior means front) while the bottom, where the ischial tuberosity is, pulls back and kind of up, thus keeping the hamstrings in a constantly stretched position.

    • @OcraMedHealth
      @OcraMedHealth 6 дней назад

      Not sure what you are talking about. I describe the issue correctly and demonstrate it with the model. And that is not a chin on the model. It is the back of the skull known as the occiput.

    Still trying to heal my distal biceps tendonitis. Been a month and a half. I've been stretching it in a few ways, getting blood flow to it, doing some rehab eccentrics for it.... Almost 7 weeks later. My job also inhibits it to heal(pulling patients to and from stretchers and beds) so, this may take many many months if ever.... Do you recccomend corticosteroid shots to help speed up recovery?

      @@OcraMedHealth I've seen that video of yours before actually(been watching alot of the distal biceps tendonitis RUclips vids), except I forgot to keep incorporating the fascia release part. That's probably an important key I need to remember. I've been putting menthol rub on it alot with the theory that it provides heat to the site which is blood flow to promote healing, some stretching of the biceps(like the exact one you showed in this video which I love) and light weighted eccentric curls with the focus on elongating the tendon to promote collagen synthesis, but.....almost 7 weeks later and it's still a small annoyance under heavy burst load(from my job)... Ie: the pulling of patients to and from stretchers and beds). It's BETTER than what it was, but the small nuisance that it is(without lifting heavy weights in the gym like I used to for the last year) won't dissapear. I'm so eager to get back into it, but I need this dumb tendon to heal. I also consume collagen regularly mixed in with my whey protein, whether that helps or not... 🤷
